The NSW Government’s plan to reduce water demand has been extended to include residential rental properties. From January 31 of this year, new legislation requires water efficiency measures to be installed in all rental properties before a tenant can be required to pay for water usage. The new Residential Tenancies Act and Regulations states that in order to pass on water charges to your tenant, you must first become compliant with minimum standards for water efficiency.
