SOLAR CELL TECHNOLOGY: TOP PERFORMANCE FOR MAXIMUM POWER

In our polycrystalline solar modules the record-holding Q.ANTUM cell concept allows for power classes as high as 270 Wp. The innovative dielectric rear surface structure reflects rays of light that have passed through the cell without being utilised. This means that light energy which would otherwise have been lost can now be converted into electricity.

FRAME TECHNOLOGY: FLEXIBILITY FOR HIGHEST LOADS

Our new 35 mm frame allows for lower weight, more flexibility and increased loads. This is made possible by a high-tech aluminium alloy, just like what is used in modern architecture. Thanks to a special thermal treatment, it is particularly tension-resistant, flexible and considerably better than other alloys in terms of its surface properties.
In combination with a high-quality silicon bonding of the laminates our G3 solar modules even resist dynamics loads (wind load) of 5400 Pa (industry standard: 2400 Pa).

ARC TECHNOLOGY: SET YOUR SIGHTS ON MAXIMUM HIT RATES

Module glass with anti-reflection technology helps to minimise undesired reflections by up to 50 %. Due to the high-quality »Sol-Gel Roller Coating« process, Q CELLS modules have an absolutely homogeneous and corrosion-resistant module glass surface. The salt fog test has also been passed with flying colours.

JUNCTION BOX & CONNECTORS: AN ETERNAL CONNECTION

The junction box features a breathable membrane that prevents water from entering while at the same time drawing moisture and heat out – performance sports clothing for our junction boxes! The intelligent design generates at least 50 % less contact resistance, minimizes heat build-up and increases power output. Diodes and cables which are welded instead of soldered  as well as the resistance against ammonia and salt water also guarantee more stability. Even voltages of up to 1000 V are permitted in accordance with UL.

Furthermore 15 % less contact resistance and a robust design makes our connectors even more efficient and resistant against the toughest conditions such as salt water and high mechanical loads. The increased extraction force of 500 N keeps the connectors securely together.

Dear value customer,

As a result of changes in AS/NZS 5033:2014 there are new requirements for Inverters which came into effect on 11th July 2015. It is now a requirement for all inverters to demonstrate compliance with IEC 62109-2 and for manufacturers to re- list compliant product with the CEC. Inventers that are not compliant will be de-listed from the approved inverters list as of 11 July 2015.

The main part of IEC 62109-2 that will affect local installers is the requirement for an earth fault alarm to alert the PV system operator that there is an earth fault so that they can take corrective action. The alarm is to continue indicating a fault on at least an hourly basis until the fault is corrected. The standard does not require a particular type of alarm, but does indicate that it can be audible, visual fax, email, sms or similar as long as it gets the attention of the PV system operator.

Most inverter manufacturers have taken a similar approach to addressing this requirement. For customers with internet access you can utilise the inverter manufacturers web portal to both display system information and provide automatic alerts to system faults. Alternatively for customers without an internet connection they can provide a relay that can be used to switch an alarm should a fault event occur.
